What EA and all the other publishers need to realize is that Used games drive up New games sales. There is no way people can afford to buy ten-twelve $60.00 games every year. Add tax to it and that comes out to almost $700.00 a year. I can't see how most people would be really afford this. And they don't. Instead, most people decide to buy a combination of used and new games to lower their costs and then sell a lot of them when they are through to get more money in for other games. Basically, EA is going to drive the demand of their games way down as people wont want to buy their games new because when they try to sell it, they will need to drop their prices by ten dollars. They are ultimately attacking the people who buy their games at retail price as they are crippling those peoples ability to get a good price for it. I personally am staying away from most EA games either new or used because they are selling crippleware.

its so stupid how EA's doing this. i rented Dead space 2 and when i tried the multiplayer it only gave me 2 day "demo" (i think) the single player was awesome. multiplayer.. not so much stasis, shoot, repeat. now with xbox owners i think EA's gonna lose a lot of revenue. if we pay for XBL already why would we want to pay more money just to play online. they should just be glad that we are even playing their games. i use gamestop when ever i can but if EA's going to put this pass "in stone" then EA just lost a customer. the only game worth my time Would be the Battlefield 3 game. but if i have to fork over more money just for online play they should include something else like a weapon mod or soemthing small to say "hey thanks for buying our game and playing it" because i DONT HAVE TO BUY THEIR GAMES. I could take my money elsewhere

If you're a reward zone member at Best Buy you'll get reward zone points towards a future gift card. As well as you'll get 10% off monthly coupons you can use on the games. Not as high a credit as gamestop, but something. Best Buy is fairly new to the game trade in business as well, so they might open up some hotter deals as they grow in that department.

Also too, Gamestop features many promotions that some retailers such as Amazon and Best Buy cant provide : Additional trade-in offers, like 25% more trade-in credit or Buy 2 used games, get 1 free.

Best Buy has now offered trade-in programs at its stores where they do give you more money for your games, however you only get a gift card and lets say you want to pick up another game, then you have to pay the full retail price without a discount. Gamestop has the benefit here with its reduced, used price and the gamestop discount with the edge card.

Not to give favoritism to Gamestop, but sometimes they can offer better deals than other retailers.
